The Foxes of Caminus Review

The Foxes of Caminus By Georgia Laura Burroughs
WEBSITE:  http://www.burroughsbooks.com/

 Synopsis:
The Foxes of Caminus (pronounced kah-MEEN-us) follows twins Harley and Anya Fox from the moment their mother places them on a plane with a destination unknown to them to the moment they depart the secret island of Caminus utterly changed forever by the adventures and discoveries they have made while attending academy there. Imagine how advanced our culture would be if we did not indulge ourselves in the use and belief in the word "can't". This is the world Harley and Anya now finds themselves living in. And they soon realize that their talented friends may be much more talented then they ever imagined. The Foxes of Caminus introduces readers to quantum physics, quantum mechanics, philosophy, religion and tolerance.

Review: I thought that The Foxes of Caminus was really good. The story was interesting and the characters likeable. But in the end I only gave it 3/5 stars. Sometimes I found the story confusing, and if I found it confusing a younger reader is definitely going to be confused. The first 1/4 of the book was also kind of slow and I found myself getting distracted a lot. Once the story got going though I was sucked in. I really liked that Georgia Burroughs brought up so many ideas that aren't often talked about with children or taught in schools. I personally love quantum physics, quantum mechanics and philosophy. The lessons and values that Georgia Burroughs teaches are ones that everyone should learn and we all need reminding of now and again. To love and forgive one another. To give in to possibility, To overcome fear. And to stand for truth. This is a great one to read with a younger child. Rating: ***/*****
